Ministerial Roundtable: Scaling up Disaster Risk Reduction Action in an Evolving Risk Landscape
The Ministerial Roundtable of the Europe and Central Asia Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction will be hosted by H.E. Danilo Šaranović, Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, and Kamal Kishore, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction. The session is open to Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Secretaries of State, as well as delegated National Directors from the 55 countries supported by UNDRR in Europe and Central Asia. The discussion will be accessible to the registered participants and media.
The Ministerial Roundtable will focus on two interlinked topics: “Disaster and climate risk finance” and “Inclusive stakeholder engagement”.
The Ministerial Roundtable aims to conclude with a political declaration summarising the discussions held in order to contribute to the following COP29, share regional perspectives ahead of the 2025 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, and reiterate the engagement of Europe and Central Asia countries to accelerate efforts to DRR and resilience building.
