The Europe and Central Asia Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction invites all stakeholders to submit applications for organizing thematic webinars by 15 August 2024.
We are pleased to announce that there are available slots for organizing thematic webinars within the Europe & Central Asia Regional Platform for DRR. Interested organizers are invited to apply by 15 August 2024.
These 1 hour and 15 minutes long webinars will be broadcasted to all registered participants of the Regional Platform and aim to contribute to the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 as well as to enhance the outcomes of the Regional Platform. These events provide a dynamic and interactive forum for stakeholders to share innovative ideas, good practices, and lessons learned in disaster risk reduction. By addressing specific priorities and topics of the Sendai Framework, webinars should help to advance understanding and implementation at local, national and regional levels, thereby strengthening overall resilience of communities. The insights and outcomes from these events feed directly into the Regional Platform's deliberations and final documents, ensuring that a diverse range of perspectives and solutions are considered in shaping effective disaster risk reduction strategies.
Responsibilities of Organizers:
- Inviting Speakers: Organizers are responsible for selecting and inviting qualified speakers for their webinar.
- Disseminating Information: In collaboration with UNDRR, organizers should promote sessions and invite relevant audiences to participate.
- Sharing outcomes with RP Secretariat: Organizers should share the webinar notes and outcomes with the RP Secretariat within 12 hours after the webinar
Application Submission, Review and Selection:
- All interested partners are invited to submit their application following the LINK by 15 August 2024
- All applications will be reviewed by the 2024 Regional Platform Secretariat.
- Selection will be based on:
- Relevance of the Topic: How well the proposed topic aligns with the priorities of the Sendai Framework.
- Proposed Outcomes: The expected outcomes and impact of the webinar.
- Partners Engaged: The quality, inclusiveness and relevance of the partners involved in the organization of the webinar.
Five selected organizers will be notified by email by 30 August 2024. Selected organizers will be requested to provide the detailed concept note of the event by 16 September 2024.
The outcomes of each webinar will contribute to the Regional Platform outcome documents. We look forward to your innovative and impactful webinar proposals!
