(Closed call) Call for expression of interest for Ignite Stage Presenters at the Europe & Central Asia Regional Platform for DRR 2024
This call is now closed.
Apply for presenting at the physical or virtual Ignite Stages by 31 July 2024.
The Regional Platform 2024 Ignite Stage provides an opportunity to expose ideas and initiatives in disaster risk reduction to the regional DRR community. Its objective is to complement and expand the range of topics and projects discussed at the RP2024 beyond those presented in the main sessions and side events. Selected Ignite Stage presenters will be asked to present a theme, project, or initiative maximum ten minutes in length.
Format
The RP2024 Ignite Stage will have two venues – a virtual one on the RP2024 website and a physical space at the PP2024 conference in Budva, Montenegro.
- Virtual Ignite Stage: video recordings of interventions prepared by all the selected participants will be shared through the RP2024 website. Records of interventions will be available to all registered participants online at any time during and after the RP2024.
- Physical Ignite Stage: The modalities for in-person participation at the Physical Ignite Stage will be shared with the selected presenters closer to the event. Live interventions at the physical space will not be broadcasted. There are no fees involved nor are proposals funded. Those participating in person are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
Who can apply?
We invite different stakeholders and participants, including Member States, Parliamentarians, Local Governments, United Nations system entities, Intergovernmental Organizations, Major Groups and other Stakeholders, to apply for the Virtual and Physical Ignite Stages.

- Scalability: For projects/initiatives, is it a large-scale project, or does it have high potential to be effectively scaled up?
- Solutions-oriented initiatives: Does the presentation focus on potential solutions rather than just describing the problem?
- Engagement Potential: Is the presentation likely to engage, captivate, and motivate the RP2024 audience?
- Relevance to the Sendai Framework: Is the proposed idea directly relevant to the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction?
