Session: Building Resilience of SMEs in South-East Europe (by invitation)
The workshop follows a series of national dialogues and regional workshops in SEE that unpacked the findings from a comprehensive survey conducted with 550 SMEs across various sectors. The discussion of this workshop will focus on developing strategies for better risk assessment, enhancing business continuity planning, and fostering a culture of preparedness and recovery in SMEs. Participants will learn about practical tools and methodologies such as the Quick Risk Assessment (QRA) tool and the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) toolkit, both of which were specifically designed to support SMEs in identifying and mitigating disaster risks.
This session also aims to present successful case studies from SMEs that have already tested and implemented these tools, demonstrating their impact on business resilience. By establishing a network of companies engaged in disaster prevention and response, the workshop intends to create a supportive ecosystem where SMEs can share experiences and best practices. The ultimate goal is to build a robust framework for disaster risk management that can be replicated across the region, strengthening the resilience of businesses to various types of disruptions.
