Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Early Warning Systems

The primary objective of this Multi-Stakeholder Forum is to raise awareness and increase commitments from stakeholders for Early Warning Systems (EWS), enhancement, strengthening stakeholder coordination and governance to support EWS initiatives in the Europe and Central Asia region. 

This event will highlight the essential role of EWS, showcase good practices from Member States, foster partnerships to enhance Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (MHEWS), and discuss innovative approaches to making EWS more effective, efficient, and inclusive for leaving no one behind.

The forum has as its main objectives:

  1. Emphasize the importance of EWS in disaster risk reduction and climate resilience whilst raising awareness among participants about the vital role of EWS in disaster preparedness.
  2. Present successful EWS implementations and strategies from Member States as models to encourage adoption by others.
  3. Facilitate partnerships among stakeholders to strengthen MHEWS under the global initiative EW4All.
  4. Drive increased pledges and financial commitments from donors and governments toward EWS initiatives.
